Happy Wednesday...
Can you believe that Halloween and November are both this weekend? Where has the time gone?
As promised, I want to give you some updates from my trip this past weekend to the San Antonio Stampin Up regional. Amy, Ms. Luna, and I had soooo much fun! We learned a lot, ate well, got some great swaps, and had our picture taken with Shelly Gardner, co-founder and CEO of Stampin' Up! What more could a stamper ask for?
Here is our pic with Shelly...
Shelly is always so sweet and very personable and I have never seen a bad picture of her, very photogenic, unlike the two on either side of her. We need to take some lessons!
Here is a picture of us taken by our table buddies...
I'm in the brown on the right, Amy is in the middle, and Ms. Luna is Amy's mom on the left. We are suppose to be working on our make and takes but not getting that accomplished at the moment. Speaking of make and takes, I will be showcasing all 6 of them right here on my blog, with instructions, so be checking back in the next week for those posts.
Shelly was the first to demonstrate a project for us. She gave us a sneak peek of the projects she is planning to send her grandchildren for Halloween. Yes, can you believe this lovely lady is a grandmother of more than 12? Amazing...
Anyway, here is a picture of Shelly demonstrating the Halloween game made from the pennant die and the big shot!
This is a better picture of the project...
Here instructions were:
- Fold a 12x12 DPS over 4 inches and run it through the big shot using the pennant die
- Use one large and 2 small pennants to make the game
- Fold the larger portion of the pennant over in the front to form a pocket
- Punch a hole in the top and add hemp for the string
- Use a 3/4 inch circle punch to cover a dime to make the part that would try to get in the pocket
I haven't tried these instructions yet, but that is what I have written in my notes. To learn more about this project visit Shelly's blog, called So Shelly.
Another project that l loved was a journal that Jaron from Stampin created. He use designer paper and all different sizes of circle punches to create a very cool look.
Love it! So very creative...these are just a few samples of the many things we learned. Don't forget to check back for more over the coming weeks.
Friday's technique tip will highlight another awesome project we learned at regionals. I will be creating a card for my sister's birthday, that I happen to miss because I was in Texas, but I will make it up to her with this fabulous card. You don't want to miss it so check back on Friday.
Not only did I get to get to attend regionals while in Texas, but I also was able to attend my baby niece's dedication at church. It was so sweet and I felt so blessed that we could attend. She is the sweetest baby and so adorable...This is my sister Amanda holding Victoria.
As you can see, Jasmine and I didn't make it in this picture as we didn't know they were taking it. But you can see my sister Amanda on the right holding Victoria, my mom in the middle with her arm around my son Javon, and my brother Steven on the left. They are a good looking bunch for sure!
We had such a good time and I miss them already...
Don't forget to check back on Friday for a technique you don't want to miss! Until then...
